"Too Much Birthday!"

"Too Much Birthday", "Family Traditions", "The Birthday Blues"…all of these thoughts are raging in my head right now as I am reflecting on this long, fun filled, very eventful weekend we have had! When we were young we had a Berenstain Bear's book called "Too Much Birthday". We loved it and often reference it when our birthdays seem to take on a life of their own! It's not that we don't enjoy them and savor every minute of them…but we are wiped out when all is said and done!
This past birthday weekend for Miller and Holly started off with a bang! I mean literally…we hit the ground running with fun celebrations and lots of yummy food!

Miller chose the Peanut Butter Cheesecake that I made for him last year for the first time…if you would like the recipe, you can see it HERE!

He actually started off his own birthday weekend with a great morning of duck hunting at his best friend's farm…he sure is loving all of his hunting gear he got for Christmas!

We all had a great time on Friday night which was his actual birthday. All of our kids were at home to celebrate and it was a fun, special time. Sarah certainly was the icing on the cake for Miller!

And I couldn't get enough of sweet Layton! I think I kissed her well over 1000 times only to find out that she came down with honest to goodness flu by midnight! Wish me well! So far, so good!

Loved having my three "babies" all together!

( wonder what he wished for?)
On Saturday morning everyone took a "birthday break" for a little four wheeling adventure…of course, Holly and I just shopped and walked the parkway! This was Sarah's first time to go with them and she thoroughly enjoyed it!

Then we transitioned from Miller's birthday to Holly's! Of course it began a day early…as most girls like to do on their birthday! A nice evening out at Bottega was just perfect as Miller and Sarah had their own date night and Mitch and Britney were caring for Layton!

For Holly's "real" birthday we went to Birmingham Country Club for lunch after church since sweet Grandmama had surgery on her hand and couldn't do her usual birthday meal of choice at their house. We all had a lot of fun doing this and it was quite relaxing!

After that, yes….we had one last celebration and it was at my parent's house. It was a joint birthday for Miller, Holly and Hannah!

It was ton's of fun and my contribution was this wonderful salad that I hadn't made in years! It's just refreshing and simple! And a great way to compliment Chicken Pesto Pizza! Hope you enjoy!

Granny Smith And Blue Cheese Salad

Red Leaf Lettuce, washed and torn
Crumbled blue cheese
2-3 Granny Smith Apples, peeled and sliced thinly
1 bag of Sea Salt Bagel Chips, crushed
toss with dressing:
1/2 C sugar
1/4 C Apple Cider Vinegar
1/2 C oil
1/4 t worcestershire sauce
1/4 t paprika
1 T poppy seeds
Mix all ingredients in a glass jar and shake well until blended. Dressing is better if made the day ahead and is allowed to sit.

I hope you all have a wonderful week! Thanks for stopping by!
