One day you past a rusty gate
It opened to a path so straight
And when you saw it there before you
You thought you knew where it would take you
And those steps that led to dreams unknown
And hidden doors you begged unthrown
Were just a way for Him to say…
Trust in Me to lead the way!
You may not fully understand
And say, "This isn't Wonderland!"
And now that path's no longer the same
It's full of hills and new terrain
It's lines aren't clear, but blurred instead
Their closings seem to us unfair
That's only because we cannot see
What His plan is for you and me
Just like the sheep He tends on the hill
His living water is there for us still
He's seen your coupled hands held high
He hears your prayers, your thoughts, your cries
Yes, God hears our pleas, He knows our wants, our desires and our dreams…We simply have to trust Him at His word and know that He loves us through each and every circumstance! Good or bad! Big or little! I pray for each of my children to rest and trust in His plan for their life and I REALLY pray that I can trust Him with their lives!
Happy Sunday!
Tonight we are celebrating my daughter in law's birthday and this is what is for dessert! My grandmother made this for us all of the time…sometimes when we went back to Memphis to visit I would even have it for breakfast! Of course that was many years ago…I certainly could't afford to do that now! It's exactly the same as the Pioneer Woman's recipe as well! Hope you enjoy it!

Preparation Instructions
Note: I use an 18x13 sheet cake pan.

Add boiling water, allow mixture to boil for 30 seconds, then turn off heat. Pour over flour mixture, and stir lightly to cool.

In a measuring cup, pour the buttermilk and add beaten eggs, baking soda, and vanilla. Stir buttermilk mixture into butter/chocolate mixture. Pour into sheet cake pan and bake at 350-degrees for 20 minutes.
While cake is baking, make the icing. Chop pecans finely. Melt butter in a saucepan. Add cocoa, stir to combine, then turn off heat. Add the milk, vanilla, and powdered sugar. Stir together. Add the pecans, stir together, and pour over warm cake.
Cut into squares, eat, and totally wig out over the fact that you’ve just made the best chocolate sheet cake. Ever.

Wow this looks wonderful, Carolyn.
ReplyDeleteLove todays post. It is difficult at times, but we do have to trust Him, because worrying will not change His plans.
Happy Sunday.
