Hawaiian Pizza
and a yummy Chicken
Pesto Pizza!
Crust
1 ( 1/4 oz package active dry yeast)
1/4 C warm water ( 110 degrees)
3 1/2 C all purpose flour
1 t salt
1/4 olive oil
3/4 C warm water
disolve yeast in warm water and set aside. Combine flour and salt in mixing bowl. Make a well in center of flour and add the yeast mixture, oil and 3/4 C of water. Stir and mix with wooden spoon until dough is round and completely mixed. Put on lightly floured work surface and knead until satiny and smooth! Place dough in greased bowl and cover and let rise 1 1/2 hrs until double in size. Take out...punch down! knead for 2 minutes... roll into circle to fit pan. Cover and let rise a second time for about 45 minutes.
Sauce Ingredients
1 C ketchup
1/3 C tomato puree
1/2 C tomato paste
1 T worcestershire sauce
1 t white vinegar
3 whole cloves
1/3 C sliced onions
1/4 t garlic powder
2 t sugar
1/2 t salt
1 t dried basil
1/2 t black pepper
6 ozs water
Combine all sauce ingredients in a medium sauce pan and bring to a boil. Turn down and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring often! Remove pan from heat and strain sauce so that cloves and onions are discarded. Let cool to room temp. Refrigerate until ready to use...can be made up to 2 days ahead.
To assemble Pizza
Preheat oven to 425
on top of crust spread 1/3 of the sauce on top, then 12 ozs mozzarella cheese and 4 ozs cheddar cheese, finely grated. Bake for 10 minutes or until slightly done. Top with 1 1/4 lbs. shredded pork barbeque meat....already heated...and top with remaining sauce...heat for about 10 minutes or until done....serve at once!!! So Yummy!!!
